Jürgen Kupke

clarinet
born in Vogtland in 1960, he studied clarinet from 1977 to
1981 at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin.
From 1981 to 1987 he worked as solo clarinetist at the theater
of the city Brandenburg. From 1987 to 1991 he was saxo-
phonist and clarinetist at the small stage "Das Ei" at the
Berliner Friedrichstadtpalast. Since 1992 he works freelance
as studio and theater musician (amongst others, Deutsches Theater in Berlin/ Berliner Ensemble/ Maxim Gorki Theater
Berlin). Moreover, he plays in several jazz groups: The Clarinet
Trio, FRIGG, TALAM ACHT. He has participated in broadcast,
theater and recording productions. Tours and concert
journeys took him to many European countries, to the USA,
to Canada and Mexico. He teaches at the Musikschule
Berlin-Kreuzberg.
